My aunt says that her doctor recommends not getting our flu shots until November so it will get us through farther into the flu season. What do you think about that? I want to get mine this month, but was considering what she said.

The current guidlelines from the Center of Disease Control (the CDC) is as above.  Some of the Flu's begin very early, so it's entirely up to the individual.

Here is what the CDC says...

"October or November is the best time to get vaccinated, but getting vaccinated in December or even later can still be beneficial. Flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May."

"Officials Hope to Stagger Flu Immunizations"

"Flu shots became available this week, but they're being rationed again -- at least for now. Because of supply uncertainties, shots are reserved until Oct. 24 for people who are at greatest risk of severe complications from influenza. They include health workers, older adults, infants and children with chronic diseases."
