Well, I finally went to PCP #3 who is sending me for a test...I am having the Persantine MIBI...tomorrow ! But dont have a clue what I am in for ...

Can anyone tell me what to expect ?

The thing is - since Wednesday night ( oy , that was just last night ! ) I have been so sick in my stomach ...I felt nasous all night then finally had diarrhea at 1am !

I have been feeling just sick all day....

makes me wonder what is going on ???

I still have the chest pains...did I tell you guys that I had gone to the ER a few weeks ago? turned up clean...so, now this test tomorrow - I hope they find nothing !!! so i can finally rest !

will they be able to tell me anything there ? or do I have to wait for the doc to finally get to me ??

can you tell , I am really tired of doctors and their "business" that jsut means numbers , not people ! Oh...im so tired of them ...

sorry for ranting...im just so tired on top of it all

but thanks to any of you who bother to read this yeah

Gosh, you poor thing!!  How miserable for you! sad

 

I'm not exactly sure what test that is that you are describing as I'm not familiar with the abbreviation...Are you having a Chemical Stress test with a Tread Mill?, or one where you just lay down on a cot and they inject you with something to make your heart go faster?

I went for the test and hopefully it will put an end to this and give me  answers -

They first put in an IV with a solution - I waited 15 min then went on to a table where big cameras took pics of this solution going thru my arteries ( I think ! ) and then I went to another room for a stress test ...a short walk on a treadmill after being hooked up with all the things ( ? ) and at the same tiem they put in this med Persatine ...it made my BP go crazy and made me very faint which they said I would feel strange...I was watched closely and monitored my BP every 3 min or so ....

then ...another 10 min wait and back to the camera table for more pics...

it was about 2 hours total and that was it ...

so , if I can get my pcp to give me answers hopefully i will know somethign next week....

thanks all for listening ...I am somewhat out of it now since I had no sleep ..a drug the pcp put me on is causing havoc in my body...needless to say I am not taking it anymore !

That sounds very similar to what I had done right after my h eart attack (a month later) so I could go to cardiac rehab. But I did not get ot use the tread mill. I had medication put in my veins to simulate exercise on a tread mill. It did take a couple of hours, though, too.

Misterie, I'm glad that the test went okay for you and let us know what they found out!

Like Kathy, I had the 'chemical' stress test without the treadmill the last few times.  Same thing, but they inject a med. to speed up your heart instead of the exercise from the treadmill.

This test can show up blockages if you have them in your coronary arteries.  I must mention though, it is not 100% accurate.  My husband had this test done and it showed a blockage - so he went in for the heart cath to make sure - and he was 100% Okay!!
