Hi All,

I am new to HealingWell. I have a few questions. I have a Pacemaker as of August 2014. I am new to this too. Most people do not expect I have one because I am 26years old. In a few days, I am scheduled for a upper endoscopy and a colonoscopy on wednesday. Are these procedures safe with a pacemaker? I have ask my doctors office today and the sectury did not know the answer. The nurse was busy all day and the doctor was in surgery all day. I am just worried now that some thing will go wrong with the pacemaker during the procedure.

hi there. the people that do these procedures are the best people to ask. heart stuff, by-passes, etc pace makers at young ages does not surprise me. i had complications with my surgery, and i saw many a young and sports people having heart procedures. your doc, should have advised you, if he or she did not, then that is negligent, but being aware of your history and requesting these procedures one would think that it is safe. err on the side of caution and ring the endo centre. many healing thoughts. sorry i don't know more. other members may do, however we are not dr's.

my conditions are mere aspects of me, they do not define me.
