"Since at least 1500 B.C., people have believed in the health benefits of garlic. China and India used it as a blood-thinning agent, and it has been found in tombs in Egypt and Rome. There is evidence that athletes in the original Olympic Games used it. Garlic may have been one of the first sanctioned “performance-enhancing agents.”

Other trials show that garlic may have anti-clotting activity, may have antioxidant effects, and may reduce homocysteine levels -- all likely benefits for the cardiovascular system."

I love Garlic!!  As a matter of fact, so does my whole family! yeah

We use fresh garlic whenever we can, in soups, main dishes, side dishes - I do draw the line when serving anything to drink...somehow I don't think a slice of garlic in water would be quite the same as a lemon, or lime! tongue

Do you use garlic?  A lot, or sometimes?  Are you aware of any other health benefits of garlic?

Please, put it in here - what helps you, may help someone else!!

Hugs, Teri tongue

Hey Vinny how come you take the garlic? Does it help at all with cholesterol? Maybe I'll have to start taking that for the blood thining effect since I can't seem to tolerate aspirin. I'll have to talk to the doc about it. I have gastritis from the aspirin. I use garlic in alot of food dishes I make. Talk to you later. Barb

P.S. how is that grandbaby doing? tongue Mine just turned a year old on the 18th of October.

I eat garlic at least twice a day, 2 cloves, plus i take a garlic supplement daily. Garlic is so good for a lot of different ailments.

Once i couldn't lower my bp from the 200/96 so my elderly friend (90yrs old) told me to take 2 cloves of garlic, place in 2 cups of water with lemon juice and take 3 tablespoons every morning. I tried it and when i went to my dr's appointment, my bp was 130/72. He couldn't believe it. It thought my bp meds were working, but i knew it was the home remedy. My bp meds just weren't doing the job.

I get the large jar of garlic that is already chopped up and then I can just put it in my food. Barb
