Good afternoon.
I have HBP and am on nifedipine ER 60mg. Recently I've noticed my blood pressure very high on taking it first off 170/95 and it goes down as I sit and wait to 147/95 (some variences but generally like this) Left arm.
Right arm readings are somewhat lower at 142/89 after about a few minutes at rest. No pain...I did feel light headed once. This as all very recent. Any thoughts?

hi mirabella. the only thing i can think of is postural drop. changes from sitting, standing, etc. some meds can cause this. take care. see ya doc. let us know. others may have more info. welcome to the forum. it is slow at the moment.

Thanks Happy Turtle. I understand the postural drop...I do go from activity to sitting when taking my reading...but I was wondering why my first reading is at least 20 points higher than it was a week before in the same position and activity level. I do see my Dr.next month. Was wondering what could cause the sudden increase...I do take supplements and vitamins. I love this forum and was a frequent visitor before I joined. Got great help with CYBERKNIFE surgery for my husband's prostate cancer and also with my pancreatic cancer surgery . So glad this forum is active.

Hi, I went to the doctor and she took my pressure a few times. She added 5 mg. of lisinopril to my medications, to be taken at the same time as my 60mgER nifedipine. Today is my second day of the new med. It seems my pressure comes down somewhat after a couple of hours. Mid afternoon, my pressure after siting a bit, is 122/74 HR 73. If I'm running around my pressure is much higher. She wants to see me again June 12th. I also had my B12 shot while there. I am 4 years from my pancreatic cancer surgery and the oncologist took my blood the day after my B12 shot. Any idea if this shot can increase ferritin levels, mine were higher than normal but I have no previous tests to compare to.
Thanks

good work with the doc. don't know about the b12. (and the ferritin) could just be a little up. we get that with all of our levels. the pathology roller coaster!!!!!!!!!! keep us updated.
