I was interested to see Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia mentioned by Amy and Lil recently. I looked it up to see what it is, there are loads of sites about it on the web. I'll try and get some address on here later when I have some help to do it!

I started coming to this forum when I first got episodes of collapsing after getting up in the mornings and having read through some information, POTS certainly seems a close match for that! What I'm hoping is that my symptoms are a result of my electrophysiological problems and when they are finally cured then I'll feel better in the mornings.

Does anyone know if that's likely?

It could be possible...but I don't know for sure since I'm not a doc.  Have you had a tilt table test?  I had one and failed it with flair...my heart rate just so high so quick the tech doing it freaked out and called my cardio to come down ASAP.  She then had to use her inhaler...that gave me such confidence.  tongue

If you haven't had a tilt table test, you may want to see if one could help diagnose you.  Talk to your doc about it...can't hurt to ask.

Juliette, good for you!  Learning about things that may help your health is great!  However... tongue As Lil has already mentioned, the next person you call should be your Dr. and definitely discuss this with him, or her!

Best Wishes, Juliette!

Hugs, Teri tongue

Hello there

My doctor does know about this. We just agreed that the collapsing was due to a combination of high heart rate and low BP. It's never been given its own diagnosis or name as such. I'll talk to him about it some more though, I'll probably see him in two or three months.

I haven't had a tilt table test. From what I've heard about it I don't think I want one!

I'll tell you the truth, I didn't enjoy my tilt table test....not at all!  But, I'm still glad I had it since it pretty much gave me a concrete diagnosis.  I think I showed every classic sign during that test of POTS.
