I get them rarely, sometimes it's when I've bent down, or working outside, or earlier I was reading something and so into it, I didn't take in a breath for a second and had them. Instead of my heart going " beat pause beat pause beat pause" it went "beat beat beat" and now instead of just coming on here and asking for some guidance, I Googled it and my anxiety has risen to the point of a panic attack and I'm getting PVCS ( which I DO suffer from ) ALOT.

I have been on a long road with this and racing heartbeat during the night (due to other related issues). But to answer your question it sounds like a perfectly normal extra heartbeat. Everyone gets them but only some people notice them. Often the beat beat beat is followed by a longer pause than normal, before returning to normal rhythm. These are often referred to as extrasystoles or premature atrial beats. PVCS is the same thing for the ventricle and can be found as a skipped beat. If you have a PVC first then you can also get a beat beat beat as the heart speeds up slightly to compensate for the missed beat. Basically nothing to worry about if your heart is structurally normal and you have already had some assessment to diagnose the PVC which will have ruled out an serious abnormal rhythms anyhow at this time.

With both of these there may be a trigger, stress is one so try to relax! There are the usual suspects caffine, alcohol, chocolate etc... BUT I have found my trigger is histamine. So I take an anti-histamine and steer well clear of foods I am allergic to and also those really high in histamine. I hardly ever get arrythmias and PAC/PVCs now.

Melissa, my advice is to pay attention, perhaps see a doc if you get other symptoms. For me I had these triple beats, then got worse. Just pay attention.

Thanks, I've had an echocardiogram and a 24 hour Holter monitor, both came back good. I was getting the skipped beats every 3 beats sometimes more for 2 months by the time I had my tests done. I avoid caffeine, chocolate, sugar, msg, etc. I've got bad anxiety and have panic attacks, I'm newly on zoloft, my anxiety seems to drive my palps, and then in return they cause more anxiety, etc.

yeah, vicious cycle. do some deep breathing exercises, and slow yourself. with panic attacks distraction really helps. reduce anxiety-which will reduce panic, palps. you get it. you have been given excellent wisdom from the members.
