I'm a 69 year old male. I have heart disease due to agent orange exposure in Vietnam. I have two stents in the RCA as well as a dual chamber pacemaker. I have coronary artery disease with several other blockages that are significant but not needing to be addressed at this time. In addition I have blockages in my external carotids and bow hunters syndrome. I have severe osteoarthritis in my hands and hips. I have had one hip replaced. I have moderate osteoarthritis in my low back and neck. I am on several drugs. And I am taking 500mg of naproxen twice a day for my arthritis pain. I was taking celebrex previously. My pain is so bad I really have a hard time functioning without the naproxen. I also take 10/325 percocet when the pain is just too bad to live with. I am a little worried about the naproxen. My primary care doc and my cardiologist are at odds over me taking it. I was hoping to get some helpful input from others in this forum. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!!

i'd go with the heart doc. maybe you can meet in the middle with a plan. can you get the buggers to come to some amicable agreement that is patient specific!!! i only say the cardiologist as the heart is keepin' ya ticking. as per the meds? what are you comfortable with? i do not know about naproxen. i have arthritis in my neck. and now some neuralgia. my best advice is to grab ya pharmacist and say, hey mate, what's up with this. cardiologists prescribe there stuff, gp's theres, the only bugger who knows what ya taking is you and your pharmacist. pharmacists know the chemical compounds and are able to determine interactions with other medications. i would discuss your meds, and in particular the ones in question. my healing thoughts to you. i am sorry for what has happened to you in vietnam. it's a bugger as you have serious heart and osteo-arthritic problems. i hop[e others come on. maybe some peeps on the chronic pain forum may have insight. i have coronary atery disease, recent x2 by-pass. have arthritis riddled in my neck. si i get you a little. neuralgia as well. pain is pain, head, neck hips heart, it is just that. tell these qwacks to get there **** together as i am not coping. your in my healing thoughts. keep posting. we care.
