I had an ablation done 3 1/2 weeks ago for symptomatic pvcs in bigeminy. I would get short of breath and light headed. This would happen as soon as I stood up.
I was told after the procedure that I had a strong heart, they saw no blockages, but the location they had to ablate was in a tough place to get to. They also explained that I could continue to have some PVCs while my heart tried to readjust.
Now that I've had the ablation, my resting heart rate range is 74-80 (prior to procedure it stayed high to 60s to low 70s even with minor activity)but as soon as I stand or walk it jumps to 100. It did not do this prior to the ablation. Is this normal? Is this dangerous in any way? I'm still on the same dose of medicine.
Had a halter monitor in 2007 where they picked up an episode of ventricular tachycardia. I was then given a nuclear stress test and echo cardigram. All were good. I started on a low dose of bystolic and have had to increase about every 2 years. I now take 10mg 2x daily. The bystolic kept my heart rate down, but PVCs increased over time until they finally became symptomatic.
