A month ago I went for a mile long walk in high heat and humidity. about 2/3 of the way through it I started sweating more profusely than ever. I stopped at RiteAid to pick up a script and thought the air conditioning would cool me off but it didn't. I was slightly dizzy and went to the cooler to buy some cold water. After leaving the store I started guzzling the water but it had no effect so I stopped at Borics to get a haircut. I couple of blocks home. I struggled all the way back and each step was agony with a piercing pain between my shoulder blades. My arms were heavy and I leaned more and more forward to the point I thought I was going to land head first on the sidewalk. I kept plugging away until I got home but it was pure agony. I laid down on my sofa under my ceiling fan for almost a half an hour. I was dizzy the rest of the day and the next. I few days later I had my annual physical with my doc who sent me to a heart specialist. I did the nitro injections and found out later that I had had a heart attack. I was totally shocked and am now awaiting a cardio cath in the next week or two. Because I'm a diabetic I have to exercise and I wonder if it's okay if I still walk but short distances like 20-25 minutes? any suggestions?[code]

Welcome to the forum.

That's a question only your doctor should answer. We're not docs here, and I sure don't want to see something bad happen if you take advice form a forum, especially since you haven't had the cath yet.

Frankly, how come they delayed it?

Do you really want to risk a repeat of what just happened by doing the same thing that triggered it?
