This is my first post, so please forgive any mistakes.

I've been experiencing chest pain for a week and a half now, and went to the ER Thursday morning after waking up with nausea, pain in my arm, my jaw sort of numb, and chest pain. EKG, blood work, and scans were all normal. They said I should follow up with my cardiologist, which I'm doing tomorrow. I am scared of what he might find. Ive been exhausted this week, with chest pain and pressure most of the time. It's all I can think about too. And the 'what ifs'.

I did a stress test around a year ago and one part was abnormal, but he wasn't concerned because I don't smoke, non-diabetic, 40 year old woman, good cholesterol. I guess my only risk factor is my weight. He said the next step would be an angiogram, but he wanted to hold off, try Bp meds to see if that helped my high BP.

Anyway I guess the point of this post is to ask for any similar experiences. And advice. I feel pretty down at the moment.

Thanks Happy Turtle.
I went for my appointment today, and he spent five minutes in the room and prescribed Carvedilol, a beta blocker, which I have zero experience with. I'm going to do some research. This is in addition to benazapril hctz, which I'm taking already. I can't help but to feel like I was kind of brushed off. It's a little frustrating.
I'm sorry to be a downer. I'm usually a really upbeat person. This has just gotten me down. And most folks don't understand, since they haven't been through it.

it's alright. I get it. I use perindiprol. bp and spiractin for the heart. search for a decent cardiologist-relevant association in your area, hospital (cardiac dept) what are you bp numbers? here for ya. some experts are arrogant. keep strong.

My BP in the office was 180/110, but I think it was just because I was sick and scared. It usually runs 130/90, with my medicine. I'm going to start searching for a new doctor. My current one was supposed to be one of the best in the area, but now I would disagree.

I feel like I've been through the ringer, and it really helps to talk with someone who understands. So thanks again. Hope you have a great evening.
