Hi, all. So, I'm working with my doc to get my blood pressure down. It's been gradually climbing all year, and got it addressed finally about 6 weeks ago. Finally up to 50mg Lisinopril and 50mg HCTZ once a day. This seems to be helping some, but still not great yet after being at this dosage now for almost a week. The other issue is PVC's (premature ventricular contractions). I wore a 24-hour holter monitor and this was the diagnosis. No one has been able to give me reasons yet why my resting heart rate is 98-120.
I went to the doc with a bad cough last week, was diagnosed with an ear infection and bronchitis. But my pulse was at 120, so she did a quick EKG, sent me home, warned me no more OTC decongestants, and warned if my pulse went to 140 to get to the ER. I have finished my 10-day antibiotics, etc, still coughing and working out the rest of the bronchitis. May go back to doc on Mon to see if I've progressed into pneumonia since my cough is still out of control.
My pulse is still high though. Sitting at my desk right now and it's 112. (After a coughing fit, it's even higher). I drink 2 cups of coffee in the morning, and usually drink water or caffeine-free gingerale the rest of the day.
Me: age 52, post-menopausal, overweight, very high stress level.
Does anyone have any ideas for me? I just don't feel like everything is being addressed.
Thanks for helping!
