Hi all, I'm 23 years old & pregnant with my second baby who is due in February (33 weeks pregnant) I've had anxiety for the last couple of years (I hate to start off saying that because I'm afraid everyone will blame it on anxiety) and I have had palpitations before pregnancy, but not very often. There would be some times that I almost felt like my heart slowed wayyyy down, and I would notice it barely thumping. Or other times I felt like I didn't have a heart. (Que the jokes ) lol. Ok now, the main reason I'm on here is because i have not been able to sleep the last few days due to waking up feeling my heart/chest feeling funny, heart racing (even while sitting in my car outside my sons school) and also my heart will feel like it does a "flip flop" every now and then (thank goodness I haven't had this symptom too much) and the flop only lasts a half of a second and makes me feel like I lose my breath for a few seconds. It's scary. I'm overly exhausted, couldn't even work today due to feeling so out of it and dizzy . I just don't feel right. I have been to the emergency room a couple of times for palpitations this pregnancy which leads to blood work & an EKG both times. Everything always comes back normal ... Like I said, I do have anxiety and I have mentioned this (and about a million other things I worry about) to my obgyn Doctor . He doesn't seem concerned and just says it is baby and all the extra blood. I almost want to get referred to a cardiologist but I feel like everyone is like "not again with the worrying" because I do tend to worry about every little thing. Please, any advice or input?

I get PVCs and mine feel like "flip flops".
Your anxiety will cause them to get worse, definitely.
I would ask to be referred to a cardiologist for peace of mind.
Best thing I've ever done!

Thanks Melissa. I have noticed that I barely notice it during the day if I'm keeping myself busy, like for instance I came into work tonight, been busy. And no racing heart/pvcs/flip flops. Maybe it is anxiety but like you said better to have peace of mind .

Absolutely, see if you can get a Holter monitor, or event monitor, and an echocardiogram. Or just one of the monitors.
