I have undiagnosed chest pain now for 5 months. The pain was sharp left side mostly behind left breast and into left rib cage;however, in the last month it is more dull/pressure central and sometimes off to the right with quick stabs of pain right below my sternum. Coughing, sneezing, breathing does not make it worse. Made worse when bending, and certain movements. It happens at rest and doing anything. Moving my arms definitely aggrivates it. Blood pressure is low 105/73. Resting heart rate is average 60bpm's

I've had
Echo-normal
ECG's. Mild ST elevation in limb leads
Cardiac MRI. Slightly enlarged heart (they tell me it's Althletes Heart from being a runner/always exercising.
All cardiac blood work up normal.
2 stress tests. Normal
Holter monitor for 24 hours. Normal. 1 PVC.
Chest CT normal
VQ lung scan. Normal. No clots
Endoscpy. Mild Chronic gastritis

Any ideas what this could be?

I've been keeping heat on it steady. I don't know if it's helping or not. I think its a comfort thing now. Lots of burping. No acid tho. Endoscopy showed mild chronic gastritis. All heart blood workup is normal and low. Absolutely no inflammatory evidence in my blood at all...and I've been worked up extensively for that. D-dimer was elevated tho 1.5 or 1500.

No idea what's going on :(

Hiya Bobbi_007. Have you thought about the pain being caused by a sliding hiatal hernia? Just a thought.

Hey Nate. I've had an endoscopy done; as well as, a chest CT. No indication of a hiatal hernia. The chest pain continues. Left rib cage right below my left breast...and just down a bit. Pain moves into my left arm and into back. Worse after supper a lot (never after breakfast or lunch). 4 cardiologists saying it's not my heart. No idea what this is. Ruining my life is all I know :(

were any meds given to help you? wow, an interesting term by the doc, mild, chronic gastritis?? sounds like some flare ups of some kind. the burping is indicative of this. i'd ask for a gastroenterological work up, if ya have not had one. introduction of new meds can cause issues, and some fruits and acidic products. keep well.

Happy Turtle, I've had the Endo done and a sigmoidoscopy (still don't know why) all normal there as well. I saw a GI on Friday who says she doesn't think it's reflux but is going to test for esophageal spasms/motility. I don't think it's that either. It seems muscular/nerve related but just has weird symptoms like arm pain (although, internist/cardiologist said any chest pain can radiate to the arms), pain after certain meals, the horrible horrible bloating, etc. I saw a chiro who said I was a mess. Subluxed rib, a band of scar tissue, lots of immobility and possibly a trapped nerve. He did some stuff and the pain was quite bad for 24 hours...then eased up quite a bit. Then I got in a fight with my back gate (it was stuck in ice and snow) and then I was bedridden for a couple days as the pain was so bad. So, I don't know if the chiro and the gate issue just masked my original pain or if it made my chronic pain worse. Ive been in horrible pain since. My pain was also made worse when I had s 24 virus.

No new meds. I refuse to take anything until they figure out what it is. On a PPI though.

I don't know if it's worth looking for another cardiologist opinion. Would make it the 5th/6th one. Or an Osteopath or what.

Lying on my left side still causes a lot of pain. As does leaning on my left side, bearing my weight on my left arm. Twisting certain ways (sometimes)...but then most times it's nothing. I'm so frustrated. I'm just getting over a concussion so now trying to get back on the wagon of figuring this out.

Yeah, I'm not sure. This past week I've been having bouts of sharp left rib pain (under and behind left breast) on some occasions it's been pleuritic in nature. Hurts if I yell to my kids from upstairs, I've noticed its hurts more when I'm sick (24 hour flu and s cold with chest congestion seemed to make it worse). Also having weird quick bottom of sternum pain...along with my dull, burning, achy mid sternum.

Had ECG and blood again Weds...all normal. Palpitations were crazy there for s bit. Again, stumped.

I have coronary microvascular disease. Found my own diagnosis and brought my research to my specialist. Confirmed diagnosis last August.
