I come here from time to time thinking this forum may take off some day.
But today I come to look and discover that 20 days into the month of June, there has been ONE single post.
And that poster was then reprimanded, being told the post was inappropriate.
Perhaps it unintentionally was... but goodness... does that mean zero posts in June is preferable.
Zero posts for three weeks on the subject matter involving the most serious and deadly health matter in the nation and the world.

I'm not certain why, but something must be leading to the bizarre absence of posts about the most prevalent disease in the world.
There must be some aspect of how this forum operates that leads to the paucity of posts.
I have not paid close enough attention to figure out the reason, however anything that dissuades people from posting should be closely examined. Clearly "no posts" isn't helping anyone.
Perhaps some adjustments in how the forum should be run are in order.

me, thinking it will take off, but it needs wings. a short convo was started about it, but alas went nowhere. I urge you to write to admin, i have had no replies.........hmmmm over a a year and a half now since first writing........my last e-mail I said I will no longer e-mail as I am a firm believer in mutual reciprocation and respect.

ps, mods do come on and stuff, and as you seen, admin has also been. forum rules are needed, however the forum has no singular moderator, I feel this may help. with having dear kitt pass I guess this maybe a difficult thing for admin to look at. other forums have similar issues, is this indicative of anything, well it depends on perception. this forum, (hw) belongs to admin. I guess I have tried to help a bit, my knowledge is probably not as good as most, but I have tried. people post and don't hang, it's the nature of the beast. the mods keep indicating that admin wants a mod for the forum, I think it good, albeit nothing has eventuated. personally I think that we are in cardiac arrest.

Turtle, you have certainly tried.
I too, like Franken, are amazed at the lack of activity, considering the prevalence of Heart Disease in the U.S. and the world.
I come to HW, primarily for the Prostate Cancer forum. As you know, Franken, that forum is EXTREMELY active, unbelievably so. Day and night. New posters and new topics every day, and you can post a question and get an answer within 15 minutes.
I even posted in that forum suggesting that some of the guys try to get involved on this forum, to promote the digital footprint. But it never happened.

If the Admin is interested, he can take a look at what about the Prostate Cancer forum made it so successsful, and try to find a way to apply it here.
I for one would love to have an active Heart Disease forum. I am on another forum that deals with heart disease, but mostly about diet and supplements. It is more active than this one, and to participate and view posts, you have to pay a monthly fee.
Surely there must be a way to make this one, as active as the Prostate Cancer section, but someone in charge needs to try.

The biggest factor in keeping a forum going here at HW is an active and informed moderator -- and sometimes even that doesn't help.

Check out the qualifications for moderating at: www.healingwell.com/community/moderators.aspx - you'll note that nowhere does it say you have to be an expert in the disease!!!

So if you guys, or anyone you know who has an interest in Heart issues and is willing to check in daily, are willing to become a moderator here that would be a step in the right direction.

Might also be that medical science and heart conditions have maid huge advancements in that some heart conditions need only minor out patient intervention. Echocardiograms when done early can yield some good results.
Less open heart and more caths are being done...There still needs to be more medical advancements, but in the last 25 years its come a long way.
Plus, there is a boat load of info on heart conditions on the internet.
Where if you look up RA the info is lack luster...
My daughter has a heart condition Aortic Stenosis, in 1991 she had open heart after fail balloon cath, she was on the heart lung machine for 20 minutes, it was very scary for us and I collapsed with a infection and fever, both of us maid it through all that. We were told antibotic protocols and now a days they don't even do that...However there is a different expertise between the pediatric cardiologists and the cardiologist to me it seems like the pediatric cardiologists do know more..

Charteux, i agree there is so much info on the net. But from my experience on the HW Prostate Cancer forum, there is absolutely no substitute for the support, and knowledge, of others who have been what one is going through. Thats why i was so surprised to see the lack of activity here, when i came here after being diagnosed with CAD. Its such a widespread disease.
