In March 15 the cardiologist said my husband's leftside was enlarged from 3.7 to 4. In April of this year he said it went from 4 to 6.2. My husband does not have high blood pressure but started 2.5 lisinapril. Another echo in November. Any insights?

Hello Cadillacwomen, I happened through this forum & saw your post. Unfortunately, this forum no longer has a mod so I try to help out when I can. I have a couple of questions for you. Is your husband diabetic by chance? The reason I am asking is my husband is diabetic & his cardiologist pit him on a low dose of Lisinapril to help protect his kidneys. He does not have high blood pressure the opposite, low blood pressure. He does have a pacemaker because of A Fib that could not be reversed with medication as he has been in A Fib many years. He too has an enlarged heart, I do not know the numbers. His cardio says this comes with age, he is 72 yrs old.

Is his cardiologist taking a wait & see position & checking him with echos? I would have asked what he thought about the numbers you posted above.

I hope to hear from you. Take care.

He is following up with another echo in six months. I guess its the muscle of the left ventricle that is enlarging. No a fib. No diabetes. He is 71 but started with fatigue and sweating five years ago. cardiomyopathy? Thanks for responding
