I have AF for more than 10 years. 6 years ago I had an ablation but it did not work, so my doctor let me take Atenolol 25mg daily. Because I am extremely sensitive with lot of medicines, I take 12.5 mg twice a day. The medicine works for me. Since then I have average 1.5 AF episode a month. My doctor wants me try Tykosyn or Sotalol to put my AF better under control.
I'd like to have some opinion about these two medicines. Which one is less side affects ( weigh gain, headache, depression etc... ) I want to mention that I have high triglycerides but I cannot use any medicine because I had bad reaction with the medicines to treat this problem. I did some research and it said Sotalol raise the triglyceride level and just use Sotalol when AF is very bad. is it true?
