Hi, I am BJ (male,61, diabetes)
I had a triple bi-pass August 2015. The surgeon in my case does 1-2 hear surgeries a day 6-7 days a week in the New Brunsfel, TX area. I first noticed a small indention about 1/4 inch in the lower sternum. the left side is healed and no pain. The right side is still very sensitive. I reported to the Drs that I had a place on the right side and left side that felt like the wiring was poking me from the inside. The GP and heart DR said all is well. Now, the indention is the full length of the sternum with the deepest over a quarter of an inch of so. Still the Drs say all is ok. I am a side sleeper and it is getting harder to sleep on my right side. A week ago, I head something and pain to the sternum that woke me. It felt like the right side had slipped under the left side. Since then I cant sleep on my right side and at work last week after picking up some items, my right side of the chest felt like someone had hit me hard and my left are became weak. I had a few days off and the hit to the chest feels lighter. So I should be sleeping 4am comes fast. I found this forum and about the "separating sternum". Thank you to all whom have written. I plan to contact the Drs about this info and see how they explain NOT INFORMING ME OF ALL THE ISSUES. If any of you have any thoughts about this post, I would appreciate it.
