Hello everyone,

I am new as of almost a decade since I posted on this website, or at least it feels like a decade!

Anyway I just need some support, I know no one is a health professional here, but just wanted to air out some concerns to people who might understand.

I am 26 years old, and always been healthy. However, I have had an extraordinarily stressful childhood/and adolescence/ I was raised by two very unstable people and eventually escaped a year ago. (in short this abuse lasted 20 years. For some of it, they withheld food, but I was still sort of healthy.)

Since then, I have finally had a life with "normal" stress....just regular every day problems, nothing horrible. However, I went to the doctor after feeling very faint and sudden chills, tiredness and chest pain with a cough. The doctor said she heard a heart murmur. I've never had one, but she said my heartbeat was irregular. I went to another doctor who said the same, and also said my heart seems to slow down then start up suddenly again. Both said to see a cardiologist, but also said it might be innocent.

What confuses me is my symptoms, I get tired after almost no exercise, breathless, my heart races.

Sometimes even when I'm resting, my heart sort of aches when I breath, so I try to breathe less. Which then makes me tired.

Chest pain happens when I am doing strenuous things, so I stopped.
My whole life I've been pretty good at managing stress in pretty extraordinary situations, so I am wondering if anyone has ever been through this?

ever gotten a murmur with these symptoms after not even having one before?

ugh my insurance was just terminated too....not helpful.

I try to remain calm with this stuff, because I'm a woman, and often I dont want doctors to think I'm just some anxious hypochondriac hysterical woman...but I am confused why my heart hurts when I breathe, or why I randomly developed a murmur.

Anyway I'll stop rambling.

I've always been healthy, hoping its nothing.

Hi Beany & welcome to the forum. As HT said those murmurs are usually are benign. What did the drs say & suggest for your situation? My son's murmur was found when he was 11 yrs old & he is now 42 with no problems, same with me.

If you have had further consults & testing suggested I urge you to see if you can qualify for help with getting some coverage.

Take care.
