As a 49-year old male, 5' 11" tall, 179 pounds., I have had high blood pressure, cholesterol and LDL for many years now.
Since Christmas, I have made a strong effort to follow Dr. Ornish and Dr. Esselstyn's guidelines which include:
1. A plant based diet while keeping dietary fat to 10% of calories per day and limiting dietary cholesterol to 10 mg/day.
2. 3.7 mile walks 6 days a week. These walks are brisk and take about
an hour to complete.
3. No sodium added to my meals.
My blood pressure is now in the normal range, 117/71
What I was wondering was have there been any studies that show how quickly LDL and cholesterol levels can drop and by what amount following this lifestyle?
