about myself, I'm 27 yo male, I have an active lifestyle. I play soccer, workout, eat healthy, get enough sleep almost every night. Drink plenty of water. No diabetes or previous heart problem. I'm considered soccer player fit so no overweight problem. I'm also a very calm person so no anxiety issue either!
I have been experiencing a very strange set of symptoms for the past week.
Last Sunday, after having 2 tiny shots of alcohol (this is not anywhere excessive compare to my normal alcohol tolerance, so I don't think alcohol is the problem, I also drink socially), 20 min later I was emitted into the ER because my heart was racing at around 130 bpm, extreme fatigue, dizziness, blurred vision, body shaking. I also felt like I was about to give out. When I tried to lay down, I can totally feel my heart is POUNDING really hard and fast. I play soccer and workout regularly so I'm not a stranger when it come to fast heartbeat, but this time I can tell my heart is working HARD and I could feel the cold all around my body. ER diagnosed me with Sinus Tachycardia, said my vital is normal, and sent me home.
On Tuesday, I went to a cardiologist and had my chest ultrasound and ekg. Ultrasound show "an extra heartbeat" but the doctor said it's otherwise normal. Still waiting for 48 hours EKG to come back. During this week, I constantly feel there is a pressure and tickle feeling between the center and the left of my chest, sometime I have to concentrate on breathing to lower my heart rate. It feels like there may be something blocking my heart blood vessel (but I could be wrong). Every morning, sometime I feel the dizziness and fatigue feeling come and go in 10 seconds, and then stop while driving to work.
On Saturday, I went to the ER again due to the same symptoms that happened last Sunday, only this time is not as bad since I'm more prepared. The reason is I was at the gym for the first time after last Sunday ER visit to see how my body is recovering. I was literally walking on a treadmill for 5 mins and light jog for 1 minute, I could suddenly feel my heart rate jump up really fast and the exact same symptom set in. I quickly tell my cousin to take me to ER before it gets worse. The ER did urine and xray, the doctor said urine show no sign of blood clots or muscle breakdown. Xray show chest and lung is clear (I'm not sure if it can tell any heart congestion?). So they recommend me to visit cardiologist since they believe I'm perfect healthy but have no additional explanation of my symptom. I also haven't drank any coffee, alcohol, tobacco, or any kind of stimulant since last Sunday so substance trigger should be ruled out.
Note: about 2 months ago, a similar symptom happened to me at the gym, that time I was working relatively hard and no alcohol was involved. That time I had to lay down in the locker room for 20 mins for the symptom to go away, still feeling fatigue on the way home though.
I eat regularly so low blood sugar is also ruled out (which was confirmed by the ER).
I also read some articles on this forum and people also have similar symptom that caused by GERD or some kind of digestive problem (https://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=45&m=2981444).
So I really hope you guys can give my some answers of what might be the root cause of my symptom because I'm very confused since ER and cardiologist still have no definite answer yet.
Thank you so much for reading this. I really appreciate your time!
