Hi, Delta. This is my first time to post on this
board, but I've been going thru similar problems
myself. Since February 2005, 11-1/2 months to
be exact, I've had 8 stents put in. 3 last February,
2 in October and 3 more last week (Feb 1 2006). My
doctor says I am the "Plaque Queen" of the hospital.
I've taken Lipitor and Lopid, and now am on Lopid
and Crestor. I'm an insulin dependent diabetic and
take a calcium blocker, plus a beta blocker. I don't
know what it is they block, but it sure "ain't" plaque!
They say at work that I'm trying to get published in
the Guiness World Book of Records as having the
most stents, but my cardiologist says there is no
limit as to the # you can have. At $6500 per stent,
I believe my doc may have imbedded a can of Crisco
in my chest. Anyway, let me know how you're doing
and I"ll do the same. Congrats on losing the weight.
I was able to beat the 3-pack-a-day cigarette habit
7 years ago, but still weigh more than I should. If
I found out I only had a short time to live, I'd have a
carton of cigarettes and a fry daddy in every room!
Take care, Cathy
