Hi all again, I am new and wrote last Saturday but sadly have not had even one response yet.  I had an ablation and pacemaker put in about 4 weeks ago and still not feeling too good.  I still have periods of shortness of breath and was wondering if anyone out there that has had an ablation could tell me if it takes a while to heal after this.  Would love to hear from someone.  Thanks!

Hi...I had an ablation for VT done (4 times actually).  Each recovery I was only about a week.

I am sure getting the pacemaker put in as well makes it a longer recovery time for you.  Have you asked your Cardiologist how long your recovery should take and what you should or should not be experiencing?  I can tell you though, I have become super sensitive to the slightest shortness of breath or skipped beats and sometimes think wow is this ever going to get better.  Things that healthy people with healthy hearts have all the time too!  So with that in mind I have trained myself I guess to not be so hypersensitive to what I am feeling all the time.  Hope that makes sense and I do wish you a speedier recovery!

Thank you so much for writing Jules. It means alot to me to hear from someone that has gone through the same type of thing. I think you are right about the fact that I also had a pacemaker which would suggest a longer recovery time. My cardiologist never really said much about healing time so that will be a question that I need to ask on my next appt.
You also brought up a valid point that we do tend to be hypersensitive to how we are feeling each day. Please know that your response had made me feel better about things and I thank you once again for your inuput.
