Welcome Hope to the HW. Your story is alot like mine. You said you had 1 mi, 4 vessel by-pass, 1 still clogged at the back of the heart and daily angina, also need a transplant. Your now 47. I hope i got all that correct. It is so much like my story. I was 47 when all my problems started. It will cause depression, but Hope never give up. Progress is being made every day in tx for heart disease. I also have CHF, Cardiomyopthy and a difibrilator and diabetis. In May of 2000 they gave me 6 - 12 mo. to live. It has been almost 6 years now. Sometimes i want to just give up but i don't. I love life and will fight to live every day. You must also do this. It's so hard at times but i depend on god every day to help me through and the HW is a great support. Please continue to visit the HW and read the posts. You will soon find that their is so many more people who fight battles every day that are more severe than ours. Sometimes i have my own pitty party and i get on line at the HW and my party breaks up. The comfort and the support here is amazing. I will keep you in my prayers.  DELTA

Delta and/or Hope, I was just wondering why your doctors
chose bypass surgery rather than stents? I hear of people
getting both, but just wonder why doctors make decisions one
way or the other. Also, is the heart transplant because your
EF's are so low? Delta, it's great the way you are so supportive
of people!
Happy Valtentines Day, everyone!

Thank you Kathy and welcome to the healing HW. I had 3 mi's and went into a coma it was er surgery.. I have had 1 stent also this year. It can be so depressing some times being sick all the time and talking with others helps to understand your own feelings and deal with your problems. The HW has been one of my life lines, god and my family being first. I was a nurse 20 years before becoming disabled and it is in my nature to want to help others who are sick. Thank you for your kindness and i hope you visit the HW often. I'll keep you in my prayers. DELTA

thank you delecece for your incouraging words.i also depend on god to help me.i know he is always by my side.but unlike you i dont always enjoy life very much, especiallly since ive been sick. i know this is the wrong way to feel because life is a gift, but i have had depression and anxiety half my life so it makes it harder to have a positve attitude.im so glad to have found this support group.all of my family have passed on,except for 1 sister out of state,so i dont have anyone to talk to about my fears.i feel like im whining too much about things because im not used to discussing much with anybody.but lately i feel overwhelmed by this illness.thank you again and you will be in my prayers.

cknight0512 i wanted to answer your question about stents.the doctor said my veins are very tiny, too tiny for stints to be placed.the only option for me was bypass surgery.it is genetic, all of my family have passed away from heart disease.the heart transplant is because if i have a new heart it will also give me new arterys, which is my problem.but i am still a smoker and they wont perform this surgery on smokers.why do i still smoke?because i cant seem to quit ive tried everything.well anyway ive said too much and i apologize.thank you for asking and good luck to you!
