I have had this on going pain right under my left side of the rib cage..blood work o.k...x-ray showed nothing. They are thinking a viral infection..feel's like I am constantly being kicked there..some times sharper then others. Any clue as to what it may be? Running a CT scan this week to try & figure it out. If that show's nothing then the ole tube down the throat & into the stomach. Help..

you might want to read through the threads about pericarditis .... it might offer some ideas to explore. i hope that's not the problem, though!

Hi Pharmerlaura,  I wanted to welcome you to healing well forum.  I have not had this problem that you describe.  Have you had any EKG's or stress test or anything like that done?  Does your doctor think it is heart related?  Hopefully someone else here will post and have some insight also.  Keep us posted.  Take care...

I read up on the pericarditis..sounds like that is what it is..in the fairly early stages. As I have only had this for one month now. I have not been sick this winter but my Husband has had his share of illnesses. The last one he was terribly sick with a high fever, no energy, lack of app..coughing spells no one wants to go through. I did NOT catch it even tho I was here with him. I have not had an EKG or stress test. They are doing the CT scan this Friday. We are only 50 miles from the Mayo Clinic here in MN..I also read that some seziure med's will cause this but the one I am on was not listed. 500 mg. of Depakote a day. I am going to print the info out & bring it to the Dr..He may or may not like it..But I know my body & I know there is something wrong in there. Thank's for pointing me in the right direction!!

How fortunate you are to be so close to the Mayo Clinic.  Good luck and please let us know how it goes...
