Sorry!  I wanted to ask, what exactly is SVT?  and does it usually stop on its own?  I am scared I am having short episodes of SVT, but they always stop before I can get to the ER so I cant be sure.  What does it feel like and is it dangerous??

SVT means supraventicular tachycardia. It means it originates in the upper chamber of the heart or the atrial. There are actually different kinds. You would need to see your doctor to wear a holter or monitor that could catch one of these episodes to let you know what kind you are having. However most are not dangerous in a structurally normal heart especially when it is a short duration. You need to check it out though. Good Luck!

thank you so much for your responses!!  Last night I definitely could feel some more extra beats when I was reading before bed (and more in tune with my body!!)  I notice a lot of weird beats around my menstrual cycle. Is that normal?

I wore a Holter for 48 hours but it never caught one of my weird episodes although I did have a few times where I felt like my heart was racing and it was just sinus tach.

Thanks again, have a wonderful day :)

Bria, Sometimes my heart seems to go CRAZY around the time of my menstrual cycle. Then some months it seems just fine. I'm 42 and could be perimenopausal so it probably depends on how wacked out my hormones get from month to month. I actually asked the EP that I saw in January or February. He said he hears this alot from women and that it probably is hormonal and just not to worry about it.??? I still hate it though! I know what you mean about the holter. Everytime I wear one my heart acts perfect. They never catch the weird stuff. (I wish I could just wear one all the time so my heart wouldn't act up!!...LOL)
