Hi I posted here once before and I have still been having heart pains, and I wanted to know what everyone here thinks of the type of pains I am having.

They start the day after I drink any type of alcohol, and continue for the next few days but lessen over time.
Here are the symptoms I experience:

-Thick Heavy Beat, Slow Beat
-Pain in left of ribcage and underneath the left side of the breast bone
-Short of Breath
-Left Arm is Tired, pain in back of arm
-Heartbeat Pushes out inbetween ribcage on left side

Is this normal? I am just frustrated because I am only 21 years old and I want to be able to drink socially. I am confused as to what to do. The doctor's I see tell me I am perfectly healthy.

Thanks for the advice.

Hi Matt20,  Welcome back....So you got all checked out and a cardiologist said everything with your heart was fine?  What it sounds like to me is GERD or gastroesophageal reflux disease which is cause by failure of the sphincter at the lower end of the esophagus to close properly. As a result, there is often regurgitation of gastric acid from the stomach into the lower esophagus producing a spasm and inflammation of the lining that may produce chest pain that is very similar to angina pains.  Chest pain from these disorders is usually caused by eating certain kinds of food like Mexican food, spicy foods, drinking coffee, and alcohol.  Perhaps you should consult your primary care physician regarding this and check and see if a proton pump inhibitor type medication such as Prilosec would help for you.

I will definitely look into it, thank you.

But what about the painful heart beats? And the shortness of breath? and the random sharp pains? I am just confused scool

Matt, GERD can cause these symptoms.  Have you checked this out with your regular doctor? http://www.priory.com/med/gerd.htm http://www.clevelandclinic.org/health/health-info/docs/0200/0294.asp?index=4900&src=news
