Numb finger - please reply a.s.a.p.

I woke up with only one of my fingers being slightly numb.  It feels like it fell asleep, but its lasting much longer.  I'm not sure if its a blood clot, although my mother says it isn't.  I'm 16, 6'1", and i weigh 170 lbs if that's any help.  I read they often start in the legs, and are misinterpreted as cramps.  After my fitness testing for phys. ed., i wouldn't know because of the pain from all the running.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bloodstone, I would suggest that if you feel it is a blood clot then you should go to the ER or call your doctor.  We are not physicians here and cant give medical advice to you regarding your symptoms.  We can only offer support and comment on like experiences on our part.  You are correct that clots usually present in the legs and with pain like charlie horses.  I am not sure of one finger being numb....

Well, the finger's no longer numb. I'm still not sure what it was, but i hope to find out soon.

I am glad its not numb any more.  Did you think that perhaps you slept wrong and maybe pinched a nerve or something of that nature....

:-)  PINCHED NERVE IS WHAT I WAS THINKING, I WOKE UP THIS MORNING AND MY WHOLE HAND HAD FALLEN ASLEEP, SOMETIMES THAT HAPPENS.
