I am a pushing real hard 65, year old woman, Just had a echo done a month ago, everything was in normal limits, but do have mitral regurgatation and very mild aortic stenoses.

Weds. I was at the mall for 2 1/2 hours, We drove back to my daughters house about a 3 minuet drive, I took my b/p and that was fine but my pulse was 108 in 5 minuets it came down to 78 and later to 65 which about my normal. I never had a pulse rate that high before that I know of. Is this normal? How long should it take your pulse to come down after any type of
exercise?

The reason I took my b/p is because my DR. has me monitoring due to white coat,I thought after walking the mall would be an good indicator of my b/p.

I do get some skipped beats on and off.

Thanks, Linda

Hi Palmy,  I wanted to welcome you to healing well forum.  We are happy to have you.  Your heart rate of 108 after so much exercise is not abnormal or anything that I would think would be something to worry too much about.  I am 32 and have a pacemaker to regulate my heart rates.  The highest the pacer is set to 140 and the lowest number being 70 so my HR never gets above 140 or below 70.  When you are walking or exercising your HR is going to be increased so if you took your pulse it would be high and most likely higher then 108.  When you sit and rest for a few minutes it will drop quickly as the heart is regulating the amount of blood it needs to pump through out your body to a resting position which is not as fast or much as moving or exercising.  I hope this makes sense...But here is a link to WebMD which is a really great resource for heart health.  Take care ~ Elisha
