Ace inhibitors (or ARBs) are standard treatment for post MI patients. These medicines can cause the serious side effects of edema, or fluid retention. This tends to be chronic, but is an emergency for some who have just started this medicine.

I have had an MI, or heart attack but cannot continue to take these meds, until my cardio has a chance to convince me of their value in helping me (us) live longer!

I would like to hear Delta or anyone else that has found a better, but still as strong as Lasix, diuretic. I have not taken Lasix for long, but I seem to remember that it could affect your hearing. I do get good BP control with a beta blocker and Lasix, but my hearing seems off a tad (HUUH)

Just trying to help myself and in so doing, may help another :)

els, I'm so glad you set up another chat schedule. I missed alot of the last ones, so I'm hoping I will be able to come to these. I probably wont be here for july 3 because our anniversary is july 4 so I will be away. I don't know if anyone would be interested in this topic, but this is just a thought. I would'nt mind talking about how heart disease has changed our lives,as far as being limited in what we can do,etc. If you havent already discussed this the last time. Anyway, looking forward to chatting with everyone.

Ahhhh Elisha, you didn't need that dear! I will be thinking about you and hoping all the pain goes away, and that you heal soon! Stay offf of it for awhile. Did it have anything to do with your BP, or the person you chose to ride with? I am being nosey, so don't answer that.

G-d bless,

Thank you everyone for your concern.  Me breaking my ankle was rather stupid really, as I was carrying a computer and lost my balance and fell backwards...in my attempt not to drop the computer it ended up landing on my left ankle.  It did hurt pretty bad for the first few hours but then my leg went numb thankfully to my MS.  I have 2 small fractures of the ankle bone and have one of those really cute black boots they now give you to wear.  I also ended up with a 6 inch cut on my ankle from the computer landing on it so it wasnt my day... eyes

Anyway, I have edited the chat schedule to include the topics we have missed in the next coming chat dates.  If anyone has any suggestions feel free to post them. :-)

I'm so sorry that you broke your ankle. Next time just drop whatever you have nono I was just going to pipe in to be careful, the numbness and pain not rearing it's ugly head can sometimes be great, but can also mask other problems. I sure you already know this. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Ah Elisha, I am so sorry to hear about how you broke your ankle. I think that has to do with the nature of your illness........? You need someone to help you with things like that! BTW how is your Mother doing? Fine I really hope.

Have a great weekend (sitting around with your bad leg propped up)....Rent a bunch of movies and pig out on popcorn and other junk, lol.

Elisha

My future son in law's Mother died yesterday. She was 51, a nurse and had taken the diet pill called phen-phen (sp?). It had damaged the valves in her heart. She was working up until she died. Her death came out of the blue. My daughter and grandson had just spent a week with her in Louisiana. She just fell in love with Sebastian, my 8 year old grandson, and he felt the same about her.

My daughter's fiancée is/was in Afghanistan. A chopper picked him up out in no man's land and he is headed home.

Take care of your Mother please. Damaged heart valves can take you at any time. It is a very, very serious condition. As you know, they can cause a blood clot at any time.

Say hello to your Mom for me and tell her this story. They are going to perform an autopsy. She was part of a class action lawsuit against the drug manufacturer.

Hope your poor ankle is being good and not paining you :) (that's hillbilly talk, lol)

Hi everyone...Since we have only have one member interested in participating in scheduled chats at this time I am going to cancel the one for August 28 and hold off for any future ones.  If any of you decide you do want to have a forum chat night let me know and we can organize it or restart them...but at this time there just isnt enough people participating.  Thank You

Sorry Dreamy...I know you so look forward to them eyes
