No problem Elisha. There's nothing like spam to ruin a good forum.

I can assure you I'm just a regular "Joe" trying to stay healthy, learn from others, and share what little information I've picked up along the way ;)

Cheers,
Santoz

Thanks for your note Dgirl :) Want me to send you all this RYR? Ha ha ha. Have a great day, or maybe 2.....Gotta laugh, I am flat out of tears, lol.

Yes Mevacor! Aren't they the ones (MERCK) that have a patent on a combination of statin/COQ-10, but will not manufacture it?

:-)  i do not know about the combination product, would that really be a good reason to try it again, not to me. how you doing on the ryr, i am going to guess not well. i could not handle it, but it was because it was hard on my gastrointestinal tract. i pretty much just take a low dose of lisinopril 81 mg. of aspirin and lots of  fish oil. i do take coq 10 also. i also read that selineum is good for the heart so i have been takeing that too. . i was surprised you didn't flinch when i told you mu ldl was 199, i am suppose to go next week for one of those tests you fast for and they check your heart.  talk later,  dreamy

I did flinch...It blew my mind...didn't know what to say. Dang maybe or worse! No I could not take the RYR at all. Had the same side affects as with all statins. I can't tolerate aspirins, ibupropen or any NSAID. I take selenium also. It is good for your prostate. Didn't know about the heart...You don't need it for your prostate I don't think :)

I take loads od fishy oil also. Magnesium is very good for your heart, especially the rhythm.

Now what kind of test are you having? Study hard and pass it, lol. I had an MRI of my knees today. I saw my rheumatoligist Monday. I gots the arthritis bad....He gave me 2 shots in my lower back. It didn't hurt. He froze the area first with some spray.

I took a 13 day steroid treatment about 3 weeks ago. Man, they made me sick. Ripped my guts out it seemed. The rheumatologist told me Monday that I was nervous. I told him he made me nervous. He said you need a tranquilizer. I said no I don't. I need some pain pills. He said not narcotics but I will prescribe you an opiate derrivitive-Tramadol. It helps a lot. He prescribed Xanax to help me reduce my smoking and is going to prescribe the new "stop smoking pill".

Good luck on your test and take care,

Rj

I was on Zocor for 6 days and thought I developed nerve damage. I developed involuntary muscle movements in my calf’s, and my left leg and arm were constantly falling sleep. I went to a specialist for testing and found no permanent damage, but it took me about a year to get back to normal.
I was advised to take co-enzyme Q10, which helps repair damaged muscle tissue. I don't know if that really helped or not.
Recently I have had good success with Zetia and taking fish body oil (omega three fatty acids). Zetia works in the digestive track by inhibiting the absorption of cholesterol. I cannot take any of the statins, but Zetia and the fish oil (4 at 1,000 mg) has worked well for me - cholesterol from 230 to 175, and triglycerides from 600 to 255.
This could be an answer for those who cannot tolerate statins.
