blood pressure changes (throughout the day)

I am new to this forum and I am being treated for lyme disease.

but I am concerned about rapid heart beats and my blood pressure changes throughout the day.

this am at the docs it was 150/100, when I got home it was 128/86, and tonight it was 140/100.

i had an ekg 1 week ago and it was normal, also resting pulse was normal.

my doc didn't seemed to concerned at all  (in fact i've been to 2 docs.) and put me on toprol 25 mgs.

I also sweat just doing nothing but that can also be a part of lyme disease.

I had to suggest to the doc if it would be possible to at the least have an echocard, so i am having that on weds.

I'm scared because up until last year I always ran a lower end bp...

Under a lot of stress with the lymes, but that aside does anyone run different bp's through the day ???

Hi littleflowers, welcome to the heart forum.  I have bradycardia (low heart rate) and orthostatic hypotension (low bp).  I take 4 differant medications throughout the day to maintain my BP at a normal level.  Sometimes they end up pushing it up into a high range, which my cardiologist and PCP are not concerned with as this is their goal in my treatment to keep my BP up. However, I dont know much about Lyme disease and its effects on BP or if it effects BP.  I imagine it very well could.  150/100 is awfully high as is 140/100.  I would think that the physicians would want to see a consistant amount of increased BP's before they treated you for high blood pressure.  If you have a monitor at home you may want to take some readings of your own and record them for referance to show your docs.
