nono  well gang, unless you need to raise your b-12 levels i do not hink the dots are a good idea. i had my b12 blood count checked and it showed abnormally high which can cause serious problems, sooo, the good news is if you wondered if they work(Aldo, i think you needed to raise your b-12 levels) they do, the bad news is don't take them unless you have a deficency.also another little tidbit of info, my hair has been falling out like crazy and it turns out, get this, that excess fish oil can cause hair loss. i have been taking about 3600to 4000mg daily and anything over 3000 can cause brittle nails, hair loss and a bunch of other things, so i am dropping back to 2400. thought you should have this info. this came from my doctors office.

On my drs. orders, I take a B12 supplement.  Actually, she wanted me to get B12 shots, but I decided on the supplements instead.  I have been on stamach medication for excess acid for years.  It was my understanding that any excess B12 is flushed out of your system by your kidneys - and you can't have too much B12 in your system. Am I wrong?

Hi Tomah,  B12 injections is suppose to work better than the pills but this is my take on it as I do take injections.   I started out with 1 ML every 2 weeks for 2 months and now I am down to 1ml once a month. I do not know how much you are on but get the B12 checked periodically. I do not think you can OD on this but ask your doctor.  Also, do you take Folic Acid?  These 2 go hand and hand.  I take 600 mg a day of Folic.  Good for the heart too.

Dreamgirl,

I googled B12. All I read was there is a very low risk of toxciity and excess B12 from foods or supplements showed no adverse effect from some study that was done. Seems hard to believe. Everything in excess has adverse effects but I couldn't find any from the 3-4 sites I looked out when I did my google search.

Does anyone else know anything about this?
