Hi all,

I have been havivg this strange sensation across the top of my chest area between and on to both shoulders. It is not pain exactly and not exactly pressure. I really don't know how to explain it except to say that when it happens I feel it must stop. It usually happens when I fall asleep, but lately it has been happening even when I am fully awake. It leaves me weak and shakey for about an hour or so.

Background: I was diagnosed with hypERthyroidism when I was 4 (40 now) and have had problems with it off and on. A few years ago I had a bad bought with it, but then managed to get my levels right using nutrition. Then I became pregnant with our 7th child and starting have probs again when she was about 4 months old. She is now 13 months. I have been working on the nutrition thing again, but it has been hard as she nurses and that has taken a lot out of me.

Otherwise I am 90 lbs dripping wet, eat pretty good, do not smoke, no real stress at the moment (except for these symptoms), don't drink or use drugs of any kind, and I exercise off and on. I was diagnosed with Mitor Valve Prolaspe, when the bad episode of hypert started, based on symptoms. Later saw a cardio and he told me he couldn't see a thing with my heart, and my stress test came out good too.

For the record my Dad died almost a year ago (2 days before Hurricane Katrina hit us) with a heart attack. He did have heart disease, but he smoked 2 1/2 packs of cigs per day for decades, had a horrible diet, and drank heavily before he changed his life for the Lord. Both of his brothers have had heart attacks, but they shared the same lifestyle. Non of which I do. The docs put me at low risk, but the hypert, I know, can cause heart disease.

So, my question: Based on the symptoms in the first paragraph would you thing that this is heart related or otherwise? I don't have health insurance and can't afford thousands of dollars in test, so I must prod and poke about looking for the answer myself. Thanks for any replys!!

From your description it is really hard to judge. Do you feel your pulse aat this time? Is it racing? Do you feel thumps or flutters or pauses? It sounds like you need to see your doctor to tell what is going on. You don't want to take chances especially with your family history the way it is.
