I've been kind of confused lately, I keep getting really strong, sudden chest pains that don't seem to want to go away, my heart sometimes seems to pump really hard and fast, and I've been getting exhausted really easily. We just got a trampoline, but I'm not really able to enjoy it because I get so tired and slightly out of breath. I do have asthma, but I'm thinking this is different. I've talked to my mom about it, but she thinks it's just malnutrition or something... Which I find sort of hard to believe, because I eat fairly healthy foods, I'm truly obsessed with all forms of fruit. This could be nothing at all, but is it possible something's wrong? Thanks in advance! All help is appreciated.

There is no way of knowing without being checked by a physician.

How old are you? If you are very young, the strong, sudden chest pains could really be growing pains or muscle soreness. Chest pains related to the heart are typically diffuse and dull. They tend to be deep in the chest like under the sternum. However everyone presents differently.

Are you talking about your heart pumping hard and fast during or right after exercise? Like after the trampoline or skating? That would really be normal. Or do you mean when you are anxious or angry aboutr something? That would be normal too. Or do you mean when you are just laying on the couch or in bed? That might be a little bit of tachycardia (Fast Heartbeat). It does not neccesarily mean anything is wrong. Some people just have a fast heart beat even at rest.

Really there is no way to tell without a doctor checking things out. But here are some things to ask yourself: Do you have a family history of early heart disease or sudden death? Do you feel breathless, dizzy or lightheaded during these times? Have your ever passed out? If so, you probably need to get checked out as soon as Possible.

Thanks for your help! I'm 15. Well sometimes I just notice my heartbeat pick up in pace and sometimes it's a bit sore. I don't think there's any family history though... But you know, now that you mention it I do feel a bit breathless, dizzy and lightheaded sometimes, and yes, I have passed out before, but I doubt it's heart-related. Well, thanks again!
