Hi Lynn

My naturopath gave me Lipo-matrix it is made Cyto-Matrix Inc. www.cyto-matrix.com

Clinical studies show that it works, and i could not find any side effects. It cost me 42 dollars but i have seen it being sold for 30 dollars. That is Canadian dollars.

My doctor put me on 10 mg of Zocor. My muscles were stiff and ached when I got up in the morning. I was lathargic all the time. Oh, and the itching thing. I was on it for about two months and I finally called the doctor and told her how I felt. She said to go off of it for about 3-4 weeks and see how I feel. Well, my muscle's are still a little stiff, but I do feel so much better. Now I have to call her to see what's next. I sure don't like that Zocor crap.

I was on Zocor for 6 days and thought I developed nerve damage. I developed involuntary muscle movements in my calfs, and my left leg and arm were constantly falling sleep. I went to a specialist for testing and found no permanent damage, but it took me about a year to get back to normal.
I was advised to take co-enzyme Q10, which helps repair damaged muscle tissue. I don't know if that really helped or not.
Recently I have had good success with Zetia and taking fish body oil (omega three fatty acids). Zetia works in the digestive track by inhibiting the absorption of cholesteral. I cannot take any of the statins, but Zetia and the fish oil (4 at 1,000 mg) has worked well for me - cholesterial from 230 to 175, and triglycerids from 600 to 255.
This could be an aswer for those who cannot toerate statins.

Lynn,
Please monitor this closely.... My husband took medication (*not Zocor) for high cholesterol and had similar symptoms (muscle aches and after only 5 days had swelling in the throat)..... came off this med immediately..
Started on a new medication 5 days later....with no side effects and have been on it for several years now.
A friend was on a high cholesterol med and had muscle pain and waited too long... had muscle damage and it was attributed to the side effects of her med. Took almost a year for her to regain proper muscle function.
Take care,
