Hi everyone,
I am new to the board!  I am 36 year old female diagnosed with pvc's .  I actually noticed them after I gave birth to my daughter 11 years ago.  They have always been a bother and I hate them, but lately they have been terrible especailly at night.  They hit me when I got to bed, which causes me not to sleep.  I am so tired and depressed!  They will not stop at night, it happens every 2 to 3 beats.  I did see my cardiologist the other day and he performed a stress echo.  Everything is normal.  He prescibed a beta blocker and an anxiety pill for night.  I really do not like taking  drugs, "if everything is normal".   I have been doing a lot of research regarding pvc's and have read a lot about magnesium.  Research has claimed that magnesium is primary to help heart palpitations.  Has anyone heard of this or takes magnesium and see's a difference?  I rather take vitamins/supplements then taking drugs for a  normal heart.  My pvc's are so bad that I just want to stay home.  Also, does anyone know if we can take the beta blockers when the pvc's are bad?  I heard it is not a good idea to just stop them.  Thanks for all your suggestions in advance.  So glad I found this forum  :)

Hi Mary! Welcome to the board. I have PACs and PVCs also. I don't take anything because they are benign and seem to just come and go at will. My cardiologist said I could take a beta blocker when they are bad if I want to. However I never have simple because he has them also and doesn't bother. So I try to deal with them. Sometimes I'm good at that and sometimes I'm not. :-) I've heard some people take magnesium for them and it really helps them and then again some people don't notice any difference. ??? Everyone seems to be different. I hope you find something to help you. GOod Luck.

Hi Mary, I can totally relate.  I get pvc's (mostly at night), and they freak me out totally.
I have tried magnesium and I don't notice a difference.
They go away for weeks at a time, then they return.  I have given up on asking for anything for them.  If they are benign, just wait them out.
I also don't sleep when they happen.  This forum really helps.  You are not alone.
