I am going to ortho dr today, and cardiologist tomorrow.  Problem is describing the pain.  Sometimes i think i have costo, other times shoulder problems or cardio..i'm so frustrated...  I have a very physically demanding job and have been in pain for a long while now.. Only thing is the pain i feel in front of my chest, on right side of sternum.  Feels like splinters.  I first recognized this and told my gp, she sent me for gallbladder tests at hospital..all normal..my palpitations are getting worse (poss anxiety, who knows at this point) and the splinter, cut glass, spur feeling..i just can't describe it is now getting worse.  Last night while i was at work my whole chest hurt so bad and right shoulder..i went to reach for something and felt like my left chest wall was rubbery and then started having pain there and in ribs as well.  I tired of freaking out from all of this.  Please has anyone ever felt this spike, spur feeling before, also sometimes i can feel it when I swallow like it's rubbing against something..please help..

Hi Harvest, I am sorry for all you’re going through.  I sometimes have trouble describing my pain also.  I have lots of chest pain but mine is always like a pressure...as if someone is sitting one me that radiates up into my neck area.  Sometimes it gets sharp pain when in my chest...but I have a pacemaker and have lots of scar tissue from lead revisions being done so I have to be careful of lifting things.

Maybe it would help you and ease some of your anxiety if you made a list of your symptoms & pain to take with you to your doctor....that way you don’t forget to tell them anything.  I know it is difficult to describe the pain you’re having and especially when you don’t know exactly what is going on.

I hope someone can post with similar symptoms for you...please let us know how your doctor’s appointment goes. Take care
