Hi Els...When you say you have vision problems....what type of vision problems, do you mind describing them for me. And also, you say you have ms, I had a brain mri which came out normal..do you think that I could still have ms with a normal brain mri and that maybe its this heart thing thats causing these vision problems? How did they find out you had ms...Im sorry I know so many questions. I am new to this site and having new and scary symptoms with no real hard diagnosis just yet. Thanks

Hi Neurogurl, I dont mind describing my symptoms to you at all.  My vision problems are mostly blurry vision sometimes double vision and once in a while I will see these really weird bright strings cross fast through my eyes...that one is hard to explain...lol!

My MS was diagnosed 5 and half yrs ago, before this I was totally healthy.  It started over the course of a weekend with my right foot going numb and spreading up my leg.  I went to bed that night and woke up the next morning completely numb on my right side.  My doctor and my mom (who is a RN) thought I had a stroke.  I had an MRI of my brain which showed a very large lesion almost the size of a golf ball.  So I had a brain biopsy done to rule out a brain tumor...which it came back that it was MS.  I have had the vision problems since I was diagnosed with MS...my heart problems started in September 05 when I got a pacemaker and later in 1/06 was diagnosed with an autonomic disorder (MSA).  I dont believe that my vision problems are heart related.  My family has an extensive history of heart problems mother, brother, grandfather...none of them have vision problems.

I know it is frustrating when your going through the diagnosis process and dont have anything to point to say "this is what it is".  As for possible MS, you can have a clean brain MRI and still have lesions on your spine that would cause lots of problems which a lot of doctors overlook.  I dont know if that is what doctors are testing you for but if so you may want to request a spinal MRI just to rule out that possibility.

I hope I have been helpful...and if you have anymore questions please do feel free to ask I dont mind sharing.  Hang in there
