Hi all!~

Merry Christmas!

I just started Celebrex for the RA and my chest feels very tight and my heart rate has not gone under 115 all day.  I have Neurocardiogenic Syncope.  I have felt just short of breath all day and feel like a rubber band is tight around my chest.  Does anyone feel like this?  Is this how I should be feeling?

Dear TeeB,

I don't think it's how you should be feeling. I hope by now you have talked to your doctor or at least, a pharmacist to determine if you should continue to take this medicine. I can only tell you what I would do and that is to discontinue the medicine, at least until I spoke to someone.

I have stopped the celebrex and the asthma has been showing its ugly head!

Thanks

Glad you popped in, Foggie.  You can react to any med.   I wouldn't take Celebrex, now.   We talked about Bextra/Vioxx before I had my heart attack.   I wasn't taking much...actually Celebrex really didn't do anything for my fibro.   Bextra..a bit better.   Still didn't take much.   Messes with stomach.  Maybe that was a good thing.   I certainly let others judge meds on their own, but that's why you can check other posts.   Yes, I was the right age for a heart attack and had several factors.  Fibro just makes lots of things more difficult.   Do hope you are better.

Tee, do you have a blood pressure machine at home so you can monitor your BP?

I have stopped taking the celebrex, been having some trouble with the asthma. I think it was the celebrex.
