Hi,

I usually post on the Lupus boards but I also have a myriad of heart problems also.  I went to my cardiologist on Thurs and he wants to refer me to a cardiologist that is trained in electrophysiology.  Does anyone know what to expect from this type of cardiologist?  My card. thinks that I may have an electrical problem in my heart.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi MBarbee, Welcome to the heart forum.  It is often common for patients who have heart problems to see an EP specialist as these are the type of physicians who study abnormal heart rhythms.  I have what is called Sick Sinus Syndrom and Bradycardia with a Septial Defect.  So, for the bradycardia (low heart rate) I saw an EP specialist while I was in the hospital who did an assesment on me before I got my pacemaker implant.

Here is a link I have pulled up for you if it is any help....http://www.stronghealth.com/services/cardiology/Procedures/EPstudy.cfm

Thanks for the info and the link.  I will check it out.

Thanks,
