Hello, new poster.  I had a sharp shooting pain that started at the large part of my left shoulder that lasted about a half second and quickly shot down my arm.  The whole episode lasted around a half second, and I just don't know what caused it.  Anyone have any ideas?  I also must add that i have been having anxiety and stress problems recently and am beginning to think I am giving myself odd symptoms like this, is that possible?

Thanks in advance.

Hi mikeyy, welcome to healing well forum, we are happy to have you join us here.  We cant really say what your sharp pain was as we are not doctors here.  I can tell you that anxiety sometimes can cause chest pain but I dont think I have heard of shooting pain like you described.  I hope some other members will be able to post here with some ideas or suggestions for you.  Take care and let us know how things go with you

Hi All
Stress and anxiety may cause many somatic sx but I would never attempt to diagnosis as you need a professional physician to do a medical exam that includes your history.
Please follow through on your issues.

One thing you may want to ask your cardiologist about are artery spasms.  I was misdiagnosed for about two years until I was finally put on calcium channel blockers and that eliminated the episodes of the sharp, short term pain.  But as the others have said, you need a medical professional diagnosis so see your cardiologist.  Bob.

Good luck with your test.  I hope you find out the cause of your pain and it is something that can be taken care of quickly and easily.
