I realize that gastric bypass may be the only solution for certain people who are extremely overweight, but personally I feel that Amy is not big enough to even have considered gastric bypass surgery.Because her health was not in immediate jeopardy, she could have lost weight & maintained it w/proper diet & exercise.I would not have taken that risk, especially w/her having such a young child. I have crohns along w/CHF,& I had peritonitis from a perforated bowel.I had to have ER exploratory surgery(2 times in 6 days) & nearly died.Anyways,I did think that she saved a bundle of $ going to Belgium. It also looked like she was in a pretty decent hospital, but you never know unless you see it in person.
Are you considering gastric bypass? If so,I wish you lots of luck!!!Btw,I just wanted to let you know that even though I have crohns,I am a chubby crohnie,& I know how hard it is to lose & maintain weight.Good Luck!-Jennifer
