I know this may seem odd, but I'm not at all sure if I'm having a heart attack or not or if there is just something else wrong...but I've called my Dr. and my hubby is on his way home to take me to the ER to have it checked out....the odd thing is that I have no pain, but a lot of symptoms. When I phoned the Dr. this am, her nurse told me not to eat, but I'm starving! As for symptoms...I have this walnut sized discomfort in my chest that goes through to my back...but I also have GERD..so it might be that...I also have been having cold sweats on and off for the last 2 days and my heart has been fluttering...but on the other hand I have thyroid problems and the Dr. just changed my meds to a higher dosage. I'm also having what feels like per tingling...not quite tingling..but close in my hands and feet and yesterday in my left fore arm...and I've also had the taste of salt in my saliva...but I've also had a sinus infection and been using a saline solution spray..so all these symptoms could be something other than a heart attack...but I'm going to the ER to be sure...my question is...what can I eat...I'm starving and have not eaten since last night. All I want to know is can I eat cream of wheat or would that cause me a further problem...does anyone know or have any suggestion? I'm starving and it will be at least another 4 hrs before the Dr. at the ER will let me have anything..I feel like my sugar levels are really off..I'm per diabetic on top to everything else and I'm on natural hormone replacement [DHEA]...so any suggestions? ..

Hello, you poor thing....I assume by now you have made your way to the hospital. Do let us know how everything turns out. We ,at Healing Well, will be thinking of and praying for you. If your doc says don't eat...don't eat, just in case you are still at home...but call and remind him or her and remind that you are a diabetic. Bless you, oakley

oakley, thanks for the kinds thoughts, prayers and words.  I'm back home now and I'm OK I'm glad to say I'm fine!  I went to the hospital ER and they did a CBC, Chemistry, X-ray of my heart, EKG, and Cardiac Markers [I'm not sure what those are, but that's what my discharge papers say was done] and luckily nothing showed up, so they told me. They have no explanation for any of my symptoms. So I'm hoping, when I phone my regular Dr. tomorrow, she has some idea as to why I had all these symptoms.

While I was in the hospital, the discomfort in my chest went away, but when I got out of the hospital, about 5 PM this evening, I was very hungry and went to the nearest fast food restaurant [that was mistake to eat fried food :( ] and the chest discomfort has now come back. So I'm guessing that is indigestion or my GERD problem acting up.

As for the cold sweats, I'm going to ask the Dr. tomorrow if it could be the higher dosage of thyroid meds she put me on last week. I'm also guessing that the heart palpitations and the fluttering in my heart were also from the change in dosage in my thyroid meds. [prior to going on thyroid meds I had palpitations, racing pulse, and some fluttering in my heart, but after going on thyroid meds all that went away...so I'll ask tomorrow if this could all be thyroid related].

As for the pre tingling in my feet and hands, that seems to happen just a bit before the veins in my feet and hands start to feel swollen and start hurting a little. This happens especially in my feet, but that goes away when I have my legs up. So I'm guessing that is another symptom of something else, and I'm not sure what, but at least it's not my heart..thank goodness..I have enough to deal with!

I'm feeling much better now and I think a good part of that is knowing that my heart is OK, which is a relief as everyone in my family has died of a heart attack. I got quite a scare with my heart a few yrs ago when I had pericardinitus [sp?]. I really was concerned today, but I'm feeling much better now and I'm going to work at being proactive in my own heath care and finding out the best diet, vitamins, and what ever I need to do to take care of my health.

Also, I'm considering getting Suzanne Somers book "Ageless". Have you heard any reviews from board members on it?

I'm so glad I found this board and all you caring people. This board has be a wonderful help to me in many ways, physically and emotionally. I'm very grateful for having found it and the kind words from so many of you!  Again, thanks very much for your kind thoughts and prayers, it's all very much appreciated.
