BABY ASPIRIN A DAY

Hello,

I was wondering if there is anyone out there who takes a baby aspirin a day (81mg or 100mg) and if so, for how long have you been taking it.

The reason Im asking is I was on it for about 5 months and I started getting ringing in my ears and vertigo. After doing some research I read that aspirin can cause these symptoms. Anyone else experience this. I stopped the aspirin and still having problems. Is taking a baby aspirin a days safe and will this ringing go away?

Hey Neurogurl, Did you talk with your doc about this? Really you dont have to take the aspirin a day unless you have CAD or are high risk for heart attacks. The aspirin helps to thins your blood and reduce the chance for blood clots for those who are in the high risk factor. So unless your doc has prescribed it for you I wouldnt worry about taking it. IMO...

Hi Els,

My doctor did prescribe me baby aspirin a day. I have a PFO (hole in heart) where if I get a blood clot it could pass through the hole. Also, my blood has a tendency to clot too. I have never had a clot but I have certain factors (antiphospholipids and factor v leyden) which basically means I can have a clot at any time.

Anyone here who takes aspirin and developed side effects....or anyone here who takes aspirin and no side effects?? Also, do you take it everyday?
