:-)  Hi all, here it is...... so i have been on disability now since March, Yippee, i had to get an attorney, went before a judge and he (not Me) determined i qualified based on the info infront of him and my testimony,  iwas glad to get it, i have not worked for two years and at 60 years old i feel i deserved a shot at it.  well here is the dilemma,my sister and my stepdaughter feel i am abusing the system, i guess because i am still able to get around fine, seem quite able to work as far as rthey are concerned, somehow i am abusing the system.  a little history  i have worked my whole life  up to age 57, when i was diagnosed with CAD and got two stents. i am doing fine  but just do not have the stamina to work anymore, i am good for a feew houurs a day then i get tired. anyhow,  i have been blessed with jobs my whole life that basically were like a cake walk, good $$$$ only needed to work a few hours  per day  in some case per week and still made 40 to 50 grand a year, i personally just thanked God for my whole life  since i did have two kids to raise alone all thoose years, anyway, i am not sure if they resent it because it is one more time i am making out like a bandit( IN their eyes) all i know is i am begiining to feel a little sssssssssssssssssssssssssorry i even shared the news with them.  any thoughts about it gang?  you do not have to side with me, need honest feedback, not sympathy,  go for it!!!!

Hi Dreamgirl, this site has gotten really slow, not really many around often. Good to hear from you. Hope things are going reasonably well. :-)   I wouldn't worry about the disability issue. It is really hard to get. They make a pretty thorough investigation. So if you qualified, then you qualified. Take it and don't feel guilty about. My father-in-law had a time getting his. He has since passed away. I understand the stamina thing. So many people do not understand that. They just want to say, "Well, you LOOK perfectly normal".   Ignore them-even if it is family. They cannot or will not understand until they have lived through it themselves. OF course we all hope and pray that they don't have to do that. Take care and please keep in touch! tongue

Dreamgirl,

If you and the judge feel you need disability then I guess you do. Whether anyone should agree or disagree isn't really important. You said you had two stents and have CAD. Is that it?

I have had several MI's, 5 bypasses, an AICD, aneurysms, PAD and heart failure. Yeah, getting tired is part of the program. I still work everyday, all day and try to get a few things done at home when I am there. I couldn't stand not having something to do everyday. Also, I don't think I could afford to live on disability even with my wife working.

I take a few breaks everyday and just rest for a little bit. I admit, it's hard and somedays I wish I could just stay home because I am so tired, dizzy and just plain feel like "crap". In the end it is up to each one of us with heart disease to decide how best to live with it. Your sister and step daughter aren't the ones that have to go through what you do so maybe just tell them to "buzz off".

:-)  thanks for writing i appreciate both of your inputs. pusher, i have a few other ailments but not one of them that serious, so i feel very blessed, and the only reason i can live on the disability is because i have a husband who can handle all the bills, i thank God everyday for that blessing.  thanks Hopes, your note was right on, nice to hear from you.  i have been busy but no real excuse for not dropping in now and again. how have you been? i wish i had a way to forward your note on to both my sister and stepdaughter, i am not them however and will just let it go.  I would love to share what happened last nite with you on this subject, maybe i will see you on chat one day. bye for now,  i will check back to see how you are doing.

Hi Dreamy, I've been pretty good these days and really busy also, which is probably a good thing. LOL...My daughter is going away to church camp this weekend. I'll be "free". So I will try to get on chat tonight or tomorrow and look for you. It may not be tonight because I think my husband will be home. Then again he may be sleeping so that he can hit the 'rails' in the morning. It is too hard to figure out his schedule.

I had a really scary thing happen to me this morning. I had only been up for about 10minutes. Into my morning routine when I was coming in from the garage and re-reading a note I'd put on the garage door for myself, I suddenly felt bizarre and I lost my balance. I actually fell over into the doorway. Then of course came the adrenaline rush...LOL....duh? Oh well....I feel fine now. I hate the off-balance feeling. I also hate feeling dizzy but I've never actually fainted. I've decided not to worry until I actually faint!

Hope to talk to you on chat soon!

:-)  hummm, any thing out of the usual scares the heck out of all of us, i would be concerned if it happens again.  we are goin boating tomorrow so i probably won't get on the chat site for a few days, but I will make it a point to try next week. it is so precious to hear from you,  have all the old friends gone? where is Els? still with the forum?  i saw a post of hers from a little while back. isn't Selmer interesting, i am happy to have some new "meat" to converse with.  not sure if that is a female or a male  but i have a feeling we will know soon. glad you have been feeling good, i can remember being so scared at the beginning, now almost three years later i am doing fine and do not dwell on the what ifs so much. we will be looking for each other.  i theink for me personally, 4:30 p.m. pacific time is best time to be on the chat  but i could come down in the a.m. and get on the computer if you will give a day and time   NOT before 8:30 a.m. pacific prayerfully  lol   bye for now dreamy
