I have something unsettling happening. I am getting these fleeting sensations in the center of my chest/upper stomach area. It is a sudden warm explosion type of feeling. It causes me to feel tingly right after the  warm spreading feeling. It is not painful, but disconcerting none the less. I have had this before but I'm having it occur several times today. ANYONE EXPERIENCE THIS TYPE OF FEELING?  Could it be an adrenaline rush? Please comment.

Hope - are you nearing menopause?  Could be a hot flash.  Do you ever check your pulse when this happens, is your heart skipping a beat?  Sometimes a warm feeling can come with heart palps.  Hope someone else has an answer for you.

I'm 44 and have wondered before if it was flushing. I have checked my pulse and it shoots up a bit to around 110 which is really nothing. Also I can't tell if the sensation causes the racing or if the racing causes the sensation.??? I get palpitations frequently and I'm not having any that I can tell when I get this feeling. ??? It is unpleasant and I hope it stops happening!

Hi Hopes, it sounds hormonal to me too, sort of an almost dizziying rush of heat around the neck area, a need for a splash of water?

Well, I am 47 and have had weird upper body flushes for several years now on and off. Mine usually is around my neck area. And at the same time I get weird chills on just my arms. And my periods have started doing weird stuff for the past year or year and a half now at least, maybe two years. I have had several times where I have skipped periods. And I periodically notice palpitations. Here is a link to a website that I frequent that has to do with menopause.
