Hi All:
I am looking for some answers to my problem.
I have been throwing up every morning and sometimes during the day and night for the last three years. The doctors said it was acid reflux. I was on every pill possible for acid reflux. They did not work.
I wake up every morning with phelm. I have something to drink (water, coffee, ice tea, grape juice, anything really) and I have to throw up. If I have coffee or tea later on in the day, I throw up. I don't drink those things anymore. Certain things I eat or drink do trigger it. I don't really eat or drink those things anymore. The things that trigger it, does sound like acid reflux symptoms but nothing has fixed it (medicine, or stop eating or drinking)
I went back to my primary dr. and she said maybe I had H Pylori.
I did test positive for that and was on the horrible anitbiotics for two weeks. It did go away but I still continued to throw up.
I went to a gastro dr and had the endoscopy done.
Everything was fine with that test. The only thing was my esophagus was a bit inflamed.
I was put on aciphex and reglan. I still continued to throw up.
I was sore on the right side where my gallbladder was. I went through a bunch of tests for that and the end result was my gallbladder was only working at 4% and it had to come out. The dr. thought that was my problem for throwing up everyday.
I had the gallbladder removed. I didn't throw up for a couple of days after it was removed. I thought I was cured. I did start to throw up again.
I have been tested for diabetes and that was negative. I have had the gastric emptying scan done and my stomach is only emptying at 22%. That is why the doctor thought I had diabetes because the nerves in my stomach were damaged. Well I don't have diabetes.
I have gone to other doctors on long island and they are all baffled as to what I have.
I think I need to find a smart doctor in nyc to try and figure out what I have.
Anybody know any doctors in nyc or have had similar symptoms like I have or have any answers? I would love the help.

Wow, it sounds like you've really been thru it... I have GERD and when I have a cold or flu or any type of illness or bug etc I am always sick, that only lasts during the course of the bug. I asume this is because the bacteria goes to my week spot, my stomach.

I would hassard a guess that as your stomach is slow to empy perhaps the food is sitting in your stomach overnight and that is making you sick. What happens if you haven't eated the day before are you still sick?

Do you sleep with the head of your bed elevated to stop food coming back up into your throat at night?

(sorry if I am just covering old ground)

Hi there, and welcome to healingwell. I am glad you have found us, but I am sorry you are dealing with this...I know it must be frustrating.

Your esophagus could be inflamed from all the throwing up. Throwing up so much can and will do a lot of damage to your body, even rot your teeth. How are you keeping any nutrients in you? Are you losing weight?

I have no idea what the cause of this could be...3 years is a long time to have this going on, undiagnosed. You truly need to find a new doctor...maybe several of them. Be persistant until you do have an answer. You can't let this continue on.

Keep us posted as to how you are doing.

Wishing you the best.
