I jsut started seeing a homeopathic doc in eastern PA - outside Philadelphia.  Has anyone on here tried this approach - with either success or failure in the Philadelphia area?  I really dont feel like paying any more unnecessary bills trying to heal this problem so a heads up would be nice.  Just post the town of the physician if you have.  There are not many out this way so I could probably narrow it down.  Im pretty impressed with my first visit though!!  So that is exciting.  And if it works, I will let you know!

I've been to a few naturopath physicians. I've been to 4 - the first 3 were OK and did not give me the warm fuzzies, I guess I just didn't care for their personality or their office manner. The last one I tried impressed me, had a great office demeanor and she is the one I have stayed with for several years. I knew when I met her that she was the right one. So if you were impressed and excited after your first appointment, then stay where you are and don't go looking for greener pastures just yet. A good ND is not easy to find so consider yourself lucky.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice!!!  I take it the homeopathic route didnt work for you bc you had the surgery.  That makes me sad :(  Oh well, I guess everyone is different.

Everyone is different! That is so true. What works for you may not work for the next guy. Our bodies are so different, even if we have the same ailments. Just wanted to say that!!!

No, Lucy007, the natural route did not work for me to control GERD. However, you're correct that it's a case of "everyone is different". The issue with my lower esophageal sphincter was a mechanical one and natural remedies were not able to resolve it nor were natural remedies the solution for the hiatal hernia. But now that the problems have been fixed surgically, I am working closely with the ND to ensure future good health. I'm extremely happy about the surgery as it has been a life-altering procedure - in a positive way. Even the ND agreed it was a worthwhile procedure to have done.

I'm fortunate to have MD's and an ND that respect each other and can work together for my benefit.

I hope you have good luck with the homeopathic doc you are seeing. Maybe if I had done the same thing a long time ago it would not have gotten to the point that surgery was necessary.
