I have an occasional "episode" where it feels like I have a sharp gnawing ache in my stomach that comes and goes.  I also feel extremely full, nauseas and bloated.  I'm not sure if I am having gastritis attacks or if this could be related to acid reflux.  This doesn't happen alot, I would say maybe for one or two days every 4-6 months.  I used to have it more frequently before I started on Prilosec.  Does this sound like acid reflux or no?  I've never been diagnosed with gastritis but I did a search and it sounds similiar to what I'm experiencing but I'm not sure.

Hey Sherry. It could be from acid reflux, sure...it could also be gastritis attacks. Also, is this happening on a full or empty stomach, or both?

My best suggestion, whcih you may not like, is to talk to your doc about it. Just to assure it isn't something more serious, as you say it happens one to two days every 4-6 months.

Is there anything else going on when it happnens? Are you sick...or healthy when the attacks come on? Could it be stress issues? There are a number of things it COULD be...it is so hard to say for sure.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.

Wishing you the best...hope you get answers soon!

It happens whether I have a full stomach or not. Stressed or not stressed (though stress makes it worse), healthy or ill. Yeah, I'm going to ask my GI about when I see him next. I just like to know what is going on with my body! :)

Thank you Tammy!
